Opportunities

Stripe is piloting Stripe Climate Fellows, seeking to fund exceptional people who have ambitious but feasible proposals to grow demand for carbon removal by 2030. Starting September 2024, selected fellows will be given grant funding to cover salary for one year and any other critical expenses to implement their proposal. Apply by July 15th.

L’Oréal SAPMENA’s (South Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and North Africa) Big Bang Beauty Tech Innovation Program  is a new open innovation venture, featuring a startup competition and pilot stage. Apply by July 13th.

The Decarbonize Commerce Summit is coming to Chicago September 19-20, bringing practical guidance from world-class experts and practitioners, the latest innovations and emerging technologies, and networking opportunities to meet peers and future partners.

Deals and funding

Syre, the textile recycling company created by Vargas and H&M Group, raised a $100M Series A to finance construction of its blueprint plant in the U.S. and first two “gigascale” recycling plants.

Enifer, based in Espoo, Finland, raised €12M to build a mycoprotein ingredient factory.
